Ah, Mondays—the start of the week, the blank slate, the day where we decide how we’re going to tackle the days ahead. For me, it’s always about choice, specifically the choice between two different kinds of “hard.” Let me explain.

Winning is HARD. Everyone’s gunning for you, watching your every move, waiting for that moment to pounce. You have to keep reinventing, staying ahead, finding new ways to keep your edge sharp. There’s no room for complacency—if you’re not evolving, you’re falling behind.

But here’s the kicker: Losing is HARD too. When you’re at the bottom, no one’s coming for you. The pressure is off, and it’s easy to get comfortable in that place of no expectations. But without that pressure, what happens? You get worse. Apathy creeps in, and potential that could’ve been uncovered just withers away. The atrophy is real, and it’s a slow burn to nowhere.

So, what’s the point? There’s no EASY way. There are just different types of hard.

Being broke is hard. Becoming financially free is hard.

Staying fit and healthy is hard. Being unfit and unhealthy is hard.

It really is just a choice of which “hard” you’re willing to go after.

I got asked today by a close friend, “Are you choosing to be an employee or an entrepreneur tomorrow?” He was referring to whether I was taking a day off. My answer? Entrepreneur, every day of the week! Why? Because I believe in this mantra: Hard now = easy later. Easy now = hard later.

It’s a mantra that’s served me well for 14 years and counting, and you’re welcome to borrow it if you like.

So here’s to making the hard choices that lead to growth, progress, and ultimately, success. Let’s crush this week together!
